This August, Kansans will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed amendment to the state constitution, which would allow voters to decide the selection process for Kansas Supreme Court justices. A ‘No’ vote would maintain the current merit-based appointment system, while a ‘Yes’ vote would change the process to an election-based system that introduces partisan politics and corruption into our state’s highest court.
